AeroSim Blockset |
|
Description
The AeroSim Blockset is a Matlab/Simulink* block library which provides components for rapid development of nonlinear 6-DOF aircraft dynamic models. In addition to aircraft dynamics the blockset also includes environment models such as standard atmosphere, background wind, turbulence,
and Earth Models (geoid reference, gravity and magnetic field).
Academic and non-commercial users (such as
government organizations) may download
the Aerosim Blockset free of charge.
The AeroSim Blockset was designed by
flight control engineers for flight control engineers. It is based on practical
experience in the development of dynamic models for Unmanned Air Vehicles.
Manual pilot commands can be provided to your aircraft model through the joystick interface block. Flight parameters from simulation can be sent to
Microsoft Flight Simulator** or FlightGear for visual output by making use of the FS Interface blocks.

AeroSim Blockset Features
Implements non-linear 6-degee-of-freedom aircraft
dynamics in multiple reference frames.
Provides linear aerodynamics, piston-engine propulsion,
and time-varying inertia model which are fully customizable; the model can
also accept aerodynamic, propulsion and inertia from user-defined sources.
Contains standard atmosphere model, background wind,
wind shear and turbulence models.
Provides detailed Earth models including WGS-84 geoid,
EGM-96 geoid undulation, and WMM-2000 magnetic field model.

Provides transformations to and from various reference
frames including body axes, wind axes, geodetic frame, and ECEF
coordinates.
Provides unit conversion blocks for common engineering
units.
Features pilot interface blocks for reading joystick
input and for visual output in Microsoft Flight Simulator or FlightGear
Flight Simulator running on any computer in the local network.
Can use XML-based aircraft, engine, and
thruster definition files in JSBSim format.
